In an industry where agility and flexibility are essential to delivery success, XDP pride ourselves on our manual sortation process. Eliminating touchpoints, and combining agile solutions, we ensure all XDP customers receive a high-quality service.
What is Manual Sortation?
Unlike many carriers who sort their freight via conveyer belts, XDP use a fully manual sortation system at our centralised hubs, and across our nationwide depots. This means that all freight which enters the XDP network, is moved around the depot and onto vehicles by our staff, rather than machinery.
What are the benefits?
There are several benefits which come with maintaining a manual sortation system for your freight services.
Flexibility
IDW (irregular weight and dimensions) freight, is often considered to be large and bulky, and can be difficult to move around via conveyer belts. Therefore, using a manual sortation system enables full flexibility in the dimensions and weight that we can carry throughout the XDP network, making us the ideal courier for large, heavy, and irregular sized items. No matter the size of the freight, our team can easily arrange the freight and prepare for delivery.
Minimal Damage
We know that damages that can arise from transporting non-standard freight is inconvenient, for both you and your customer. Through operating a manual sortation process, XDP minimises touchpoints throughout the delivery process, eliminating potential damages. From collection, through to final mile delivery at the home address, XDP keep contact points to a minimum across all our service offerings.
At XDP, we have several unique attributes which make us the B2C carrier of choice for large and non-standard freight. If you want to experience our manual sortation system and discover right-first time delivery solutions – contact our sales team today.
